Abstract
The paper discusses the benefit of using mismatched filtering in GSM based passive radar systems. The Inverse Filter (IF) proposed here is derived and an implementation method is developed taking into account the GSM burst structure. Afterward a performance comparison with Matched Filter is carried out. The improvement that IF can provide in terms of range resolution and weak target detection in the vicinity of strong ones are underlined through simulation results and real data.
