Abstract
In this paper, the generalized detector (GD) designed based on the generalized approach to signal processing is employed by nonuniform linear antenna array synthetic aperture radar (NULA-SAR) system to locate the moving targets in the azimuth (cross-range) direction. GD is proposed to solve the common problem of detection at the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) when the conventional estimation of signal is impossible. NULA-SAR systems constructed based on GD demonstrate a high accuracy under estimation of signal parameters in the course of definition of moving target location in comparison with NULA-SAR system designed based on, for example, the Neyman-Pearson receiver.
