All-Optical Swapping of Digital Lightpath Labels

We describe a new method of swapping digital lightpath labels, by selective inversion of blocks of bits. All-optical label swapping is demonstrated using an SOA-MZI regenerator, optically switched from inverting to non-inverting operation.
