IMPEDANCE AND SINGLE BUNCH INSTABILITY CALCULATIONS FOR THE ILC DAMPING RINGS

Abstract An important action item for the damping rings of the In- ternational Linear Collider (ILC) is to compute,the broad- band impedance and, from it, the threshold to the mi- crowave instability. We report on the status of our study and provide a preliminary estimate of the instability thresh- old based on impedance,models developed so far.
