Computed tomography (CT) scan data has been processes into quantitative geometric data for a range of wrists in varying attitudes. The geometric data has been processed to yield information concerning shape variation for the carpal bones, and to describe changes in location and orientation during wrist motion. The shape studies have concentrated on the hamate, scaphoid, and lunate. They reveal a range of variability, especially for such features as the hook of the hamate
