Abstract
Objective: To observe the cytotoxicity of 131I-[Tyr3]octreotide ( 131I-TOC) to cells involved in the process of Graves ophthalmopathy. Methods: 131I-TOC was added to cells in different growth cycle and different cells to assess the toxicity of 131I-TOC to cells. Then the separate dosage of 131I-TOC was cocultured with fibroblast NIH3T3 and the cytotoxicity was measured. Results: 131I-TOC had significant cytotoxicity to active fibroblast cells and proliferating cells. Its cytotoxicity was enhanced with increased dosage. Conclusion: 131I-TOC might become an effective novel therapy of Graves ophthalmopathy.
