Notice of Retraction After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE's Publication Principles. We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper. The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org. Service function value assessment of ecological system has become a hot research field in the world. In-depth study of ecosystem degradation mechanism and measures to prevent the degradation of ecosystem services are beneficial to the sustainable development of ecosystems. This paper used cost valuation method and the damage/benefit valuation method to assess the value of forest ecosystem services in Meizhou City. Using the assessment results and combining forest resources situation, the authors suggest some ways to restore some degenerated service functions, which are to strengthen publicity work to enhance people's ecological conscious, to scientifically plan and to restore in small watershed in Meizhou, to do ecological construction by relying on science and technology, and to utilize the resources to develop diversified economy.
