A precision 2.5V bandgap voltage reference with excellent initial accuracy of 0.25% for high resolution ADCs

In this paper, a precision 2.5V bandgap voltage reference (BGR) implemented in a commercial 0.6μm mixed-signal CMOS process is presented. This circuit operates on the single power supply of +5V. Experimental results show that the circuit designed delivers an output voltage of 2.5V and achieves the high initial accuracy of better than 0.25% at room temperature, temperature coefficient of 5.3ppm/°C over a wide temperature range of -25°C to +125° after trimming, and the power supply rejection raito (PSRR) of 62dB are achieved. The silicon area of the circuit is about 1.5mm 2 which is very suitable for the high resolution data converters. © 2011 IEEE.
