The research on removal efficiency of pollutants in Xinxue River Constructed Wetland

Based on the monitoring data of June 2009 from Xinxue River Constructed Wetland, Shandong, China, the research was done to reveal the variations of COD, NH3-N, TN and TP in multistage series constructed wetland system. The results showed that the constructed wetland had a fairly good purification efficiency to the polluted water of Xinxue River, and the concentration of various pollutants gradually decreased along the technological process; the removal rate of COD, NH3-N, TN, TP was respectively 55.1%, 47.2%, 83.7% and 56.3%; in the retention pond and various stage of wetland, the removal rate of various pollutants was respectively 4.2∼ 13.8% for COD, 2.5∼13.0% for NH3-N, 0.1∼ 29.5% for TN and-25.0∼ 25.0% for TP; because of the matrix releasing phosphorus to water, the effluent TP concentration of the fifth stage wetland is higher than the fourth stage. © 2011 IEEE.
