Synthesis and characterization of Ti:Al2O3 nano-powders by co-precipitation method

In this paper. Ti:Al2O3 nano-powders were prepared by the co-precipitation method for the first time. The nano-powders were characterized by TG/DTA, FTIR, XRD, TEM and EDS techniques. The results indicate that the pure alpha-Al2O3 phase can be obtained when the precursors were calcined at 1 200 degrees C for 1 h. The powders were 25 similar to 50 nm in size with well dispersed and narrow distributed spherical morphology.
