Harmonic analysis and elimination in the de-icing & SVC system

Abstract
This paper introduced the structure and characteristics of the de-icing & SVC system, and analyzed the reactive compensator, harmonic characteristics and its effect on the point of common coupling (PCC) at de-icing and SVC operation situation respectively. Based on the requirement of the reactive capacity and harmonic elimination, it optimized the construction of filter, the amplitude-frequency characteristics and the parameters of filter capacitor branch, such as the capacitor banks and tuning reactor. At last, it modeled the system with filter through PSCAD/EMTDC software. The simulation results show that both the voltage distortion and the injected harmonic current of the PCC meet the requirement of national standard and the reactive loss of the rectifier can be compensated. And the design was confirmed by engineering practice.
