Recent progress in synthesis of optically active α-hydroxyphosphonic acid and α-hydroxyphosphonates

α-Hydroxyphosphonic acids and their derivatives have diverse and interesting biological and biochemical properties. This paper reviews the recent studies on the synthesis of optically active α-hydroxyphosphonic acids and a-hydroxyphosphonates by chiral auxiliary induced and chiral catalyst catalyzed methods.
