The application of organosilicone drilling fluid in block Zhandian, Henan

Bore hole sloughing formation clay incorporation into drilling fluid were encountered in Block Zhangdian of Henan Oilfield because of the high active clay content in the formation penetrated and formation dipping. An organosilicone drilling fluid formulated with chemicals of choice, such as a high molecular weight polymer, GW-1, OSAM-K etc was used in four wells in Zhangdian. Downhole troubles such as those caused by formation clay swelling were minimized. Mud density was reduced and tripping was done smoothly. Well loggings in four wells were conducted successfully, without any hindrance.
