Abstract
In this paper, a novel coal water slurry (CWS) nozzle for gasification was developed, and its atomizing performance was experimentally studied. The effects of the nozzle structure upon the atomized particle distribution, the sauter mean diameter (SMD) and the nozzle atomizing angle were analyzed. The results indicated that there were optimal values for the nozzle component dimension when the best atomizing effect were achieved. With the optimal nozzle dimension, the SMD value was the least, and the atomized particle distribution was most homogeneous. The nozzle atomizing angle was slightly affected by the nozzle component dimension, and could be controlled with the opening direction of the atomizing head.
