Experimental research on motion law of fragment and shock wave under the condition of internal explosion

Abstract
In order to research the combined effects of blast and fragment loading, the velocity tests of two fragment masses were done, the different attenuation laws of fragments were obtained; the simulated explosive damage effect tests were finished under the condition of internal explosion in explosive chamber; the motion evolution process of fragment and air shock under the above condition was investigated, and its motion laws were analyzed at the different scaled distances and charge coefficients. The investigated results show that fragment mass has an obvious influence on the flight speed attenuation of fragment; the front of air shock wave can catch and overtake the fragment at the spot where is 19.3 times longer than radius of charge from the centre of explosive; the combined effects of blast and fragment loadings should be considered for designing the protective construction.
