Characteristic of heat and mass transfer of falling film under moist air sweeping condition

Based on volume of fluid (VOF) method, heat and mass transfer of falling film under moist air sweeping condition and constant heat flux condition was investigated. Surface tension and species transport were taken into account. The calculated results show that solid surface is cooled effectively by falling film. The local Nusselt number is much higher and the intensity of convection heat transfer is much greater when it approaches to the inlet of liquid film. Sweeping of moist air quicken the evaporation of liquid film, and the humidity content increases along the flow direction of air stream, which enhances the cooling of solid surface. © 2009 Chin.
