Simultaneous determination of 22 pesticides residues from stem and leaves of panax ginseng by GC-ECD and GC-MS

A rapid and simple method for simultaneous determination of 22 pesticides residues in stem and leaves of ginseng by gas chromatography coupled to electron capture detector (GC-ECD) and gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC MS) has been developed. Pesticides were extracted from SLG samples with petroleum ether on a column packed with florisil silica. Recoveries of all studied residues ranged from 81.51% to 115.40% with relative standard deviation ranging from 2.81% to 4.93%. The lowest detection limit of 22 pesticides residues was from 1.0 to 5.0 mu g kg(-1). The GC-MS assay showed that there were procymidone residues in several samples. The results suggest that the proposed method can be applied to the analysis of pesticides residues in ginseng samples by GC-ECD and GC MS.
