Development And Application Of Coal Liquefied Oil Hydro-Upgrading Technology

Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP) developed the RCHU technology to increase cetane number of the diesel distillate from coal liquefied oil. After hydrotreated by RCHU technology, low quality coal liquefied oil is converted to naphtha as reformer feed and clean diesel fuel. The pilot plant result indicated that cetane number of coal liquefied diesel distillate could be increased from 30 up to more than 45. The RCHU technology has been commercial applied in coal liquefaction factory in China in Dec.30, 2008.
