Study on microwave absorbing materials based on Conducting Polymer using in space vehicles
International Astronautical Federation - 59th International Astronautical Congress 2008, IAC 2008(2008)
Abstract
Microwave absorbing materials, as one of the major points in stealth materials, have been planed for using in the space vehicles in some countries. Conducting Polymers, due to theirs excellent electrical properties, have been widely investigated by many researchers in academia and application fields. In this article, Polyanilines (PANIs) are synthesized in the homogeneous media with different acidity, such as aqueous alcohol, aqueous ketone by using ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS) as oxidant through the chemical oxidation method. The PANI composites in the presence of conjugated Schiff base are also prepared. It is investigated the properties of PANI and the PANI/Schiff base composites using two-probe method, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), Scanning electro microscope (SEM), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The electromagnetic parameters of these materials are also studied in 8.2 GHz∼12.4 GHz on the HP vector network analyzer.
