Abstract
The principle and foundation of airport site selection is analyzed. On the basis of several examples of airport site selection, an index system is established. Relying on expert knowledge systems, the weight and the attribute value of the elements in the index system are given in the form of interval numbers rather than a single fuzzy value, for it is more consistent with the subjective intention. Using the single-objective optimization model and the interval numbers theory, a solution to airport site selection problems belonging to the uncertain multi-attribute decision making problems is given, and an example is given to show that the solution is feasible and effective. © ASCE.
