Abstract
Four new monovalent 1-aminoethylidenediphosphonates, [Li(AEDPH(3))(H2O)](6) (1), Na-2(AEDPH(3))(2)(H2O)(8) (2), (NH4)(AEDPH(3)) (3) and ((CH3)(2)NH2)(AEDPH(3))(H2O) (4) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TG together with X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. Compound 1 is a 24-metallacrown-6 lithium structure, compound 2 is binuclear Na+ bridged by water molecules, and compounds 3 and 4 are proton-transfer salts. All four compounds are further extended to form three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular structures with the aid of water molecules (excluding 3) via various predictable hydrogen bonds.
