Abstract
The SHG-II-Z scrubber for FGD is a kind of new equipment developed by Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection. The volumetric reaction model was used to simulate desulphurization, removal of dust and the 3D gas-liquid-solid flow field in the SHG-II-Z scrubber using FLUENT. On the assumption that the dust and sulfur dioxide are removed by absorption and reaction with water, the influence of velocities of air and quantity of spray water on the desulphurization rate and dust removal rate were studied. The results show that the efficiency of removal of sulfur dioxide decreases firstly and then increases with the velocity of air, and the efficiency of dust removal decreases with the velocity of air; the efficiency of removal of sulfur dioxide and dust increases with the increase of spray water.
