Abstract
Zircon SHRIMP U-Pb dating was performed on alkali feldspar-quartz syenite and arfvedsonite alkali granite in the Cida alkali complex in the Dechang area, in the Panxi paleorift. It gave ages of 221 ± 6 Ma and 225±2 Ma respectively, which suggests that the crystallization or rock-forming age of the alkali complex is Late Triassic and also implies that extension-fracturing of the Panxi paleorift occurred in the Triassic.
