Research in fracture mechanism of casting aluminum alloy A356

Properties of cast aluminium alloy A356.0 are studied, fracture surface are analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The fracture mechanism of casting aluminum alloy A356 has been studied. The results showed that crack origins from the casting defect places, crack fracture surface represents cleavage fracture and quasi-cleavage fracture characteristic. The fracture mechanism is brittle fracture that it put on the crystal.
