The mechanism and simulation of artificial roughness on heat transfer enhancement

The mechanism and influence factors of artificial roughness on heat transfer enhancement have been analyzed. As an example, the cooling of a mould with or without artificial roughness on its cooling surfaces is simulated and the simulation results are compared. It shows that reasonable use of artificial roughness on the cooling surface of the mould can enhance the cooling of the mould and increase productivity.
