The Transmembrane Potential Induced On A Permeabilized Cell In Suspensions Exposed To Dc Pulse Fields
Guilin(2006)
Abstract
During the celectroporation, the membrane conductivity increase dramatically. The transmembraen potential (TMP) on the permeabilized cells in suspensions exposed to a DC,pulse field, is theoretically a complex problem especially due to the rotation and the mutual interactions among the permeabilized cells. Based on the Maxwell equivalent theory, an analytical solution for the TMP on the permeabilized cells was derived in this paper. The equation shows that the TMP depends on parameters such as the external electric field, critical angle of electroporation, cell radio, conductivity of the cytoplasm, membrane and external medium, cell arrangement and cell volume fraction.
