Design and implementation of reliable multicast protocol for distributed EMS system

In order to improve the communication bandwidth and reliability among the nodes in distributed EMS system, this paper introduces the design and implementation of MRTP (Multicast Reliable Transfer Protocol) protocol in the Unix/Linux environment based on comparison of TCP and UDP protocol and the features of electric power automation systems. This paper also presents the MRTP implementation architecture, key data structures and detailed analysis of performance testing.
