Abstract
In order to study the debond propagation in the burning propellant, the finite element method was used to calculate the stress distribution of different specimens. The combustion process was measured by the X-ray real time radiography system. The conclusion is that the large tension deformation must be obtained for the debond propagation. Since the deformation slot is pressed in the specimen ignition, the larger tension deformation will be obtained. As a result, when the tension deformation reaches the critical value, the debond will propagate.
