Chitosan-gelatin/calcium phosphate biocomposites

Macroporous biocomposite with porosity larger than 95% based on chitosan-gelatin network and calcium phosphates was developed. The macroporous chitosan-gelatin/HA composite scaffold and macroporous chitosan-gelatin/β- TCP composite scaffolds were fabricated through freeze-drying technique. A novel chitosan hydrochloride (CH)/β-TCP temperature responsive injectable biocomposite was also developed through modulating the supramolecular interactions in the presence of glycerol phosphate disodium (GP). Doping of the gel by means of β-TCP allowed it to improve the bioactivity.
