摘要
•The growth quality of ZnO nanorods was improved dramatically with the assistance of response surface methodology.•The significant parameters for ZnO rod arrays growth and their optimal regions were also determined effectively.•High-quality ZnO rod arrays with a large aspect ratio value of 31 were obtained without capping agent in neutral solution.
