Abstract
An outline on information about the Raney Fe preparation, optimization, Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) activity, and the catalyst wearing in the reaction was presented. A series of Raney Fe catalysts were obtained through different routines and showed high activity and light alkenes selectivity in the slurry F-T synthesis. The optimized preparation process and the physical properties of Raney Fe were described. Based on the synthesis results and the catalyst-slurry separation, Raney Fe catalyst was prior to precipitated Fe in slurry F-T synthesis. The alloy with All/Fe ratio than 3:1 was an intermetallic in the form of Fe14Al44, and the Raney Fe showed characteristic peak of Fe3O4 beside α-Fe. The precipitated Fe in the slurry reactor could not be separated entirely, while Raney Fe was relatively easy to be separated. Raney Fe catalyst was a competitive iron-based catalyst for the slurry F-T synthesis and helpful to the separation of solid from liquid.
