Effect of Al-TiC0.47-B Dopants on PCBN Synthesis

A series of investigation were done, which include the relations of the dopant content of Al-TiC0.47-B, the ratio of Al, TiC0.47 in binder and the sintering temperature with the compressing strength, the abrasion resistance and the cutting property of PCBN. The experimental results reveal that there is an appropriate rang for the content of dopants, ratio of Al-TiC0.47 in binder, and sintering temperature in which the best properties of PCBN are obtained. The PCBN sample was investigated by XRD and SEM.
