Abstract
Syngenite K2SO4. CaSO4. H2O solubilities at 25 degrees C in a system of water with potassium and calcium chlorides and sulfates in the presence of 20 and 30 wt % carbamide are studied, It is established that, in the presence of carbamide, the syngenite crystallization field in the solubility isotherm of the system in question becomes larger and shifts to the higher concentrations of the calcium salts. Evidence is obtained that potassium chloride can be converted by gypsum to potassium sulfate and its compounds in an aqueous medium in the presence of carbamide.
