Solar photocatalytic degradation of different types of dyes

Abstract
The experiments on solar photocatalytic degradation of four types (including eight kinds) of dyes and methylorange are carried out under the condition of sunny days with a UV radiation intensity of 21.28 W/m2, an initial concentration of dye of 20 mg/L and amount of TiO2 of 1 g/L. After four-hour exposure, all the dyes have obtained a high rate of decolorization and total organic carbon is removed. The experimental results show that using heterogeneous photocatalytic oxidation process for industrial dye waste water treatment is feasible.
