New method of preparing tip for near-field optical microscopy

A method of preparing tip by using the optical fiber heated locally by resistance filament and stretched by gravity. By using this method, the tip available for near-field optical microscopy is prepared under suitable experimental conditions. The experimental facilities are simple and the fabricating conditions are easy to be controlled. The curvature radius of the tip is less than 120 nm.
