New motion analysis system with image processing function

A novel motion analysis system with image processing function is presented. The system consists of lenses for image conveying, CCD camera, frame grabber and a computer. The film transport mechanism was driven by the computer-controlled step motor. The monitor of computer acts as device for coordinate digitizing with 0.01mm resolution of the film. In order to improve the quality of tested pictures, the system was provided with many image processing techniques including image reversal, contract enhancement, image smoothing, edge detection et al. Example of image processing results was given.
