The Calculation And Comparison Of The Operating Parities Among Water Chillers Under The Partial Load

The energy consumption and first investment of water chiller unit take the larger proportion of the whole air conditioning system, but water chiller often operates under partial load in worktime; This paper introduces ARI-500-90 Standard Integrated Partial Load Value (IPLV) to evaluate the performance of the chiller during cooling season. A calculation method of operating parity among water chiller is presented. Energy, initial investment and operating cast are analyzed for modular reciprocating, centrifugal, screw, absorption chillers, their investment repayment rates are obtained. Finally the paper suggests principles of specifying chillers from the viewpoint of energy efficiency and investment benefit.
