Abstract
In this paper, the experimental study of quenching a 12mm thick copper disk having a diameter of 50 mm for inclinations of 0 degrees (downward facing), 10 degrees, 20 degrees, 30 degrees, 50 degrees and 90 degrees in liquid nitrogen have been carried out. Results show that the quenching pool boiling curves shift upward and to the right from theta = 0 degrees to theta = 90 degrees.The influence of inclinations on boiling curves is more pronounced below 30 degrees. Critical heat flux, minimum film boiling heat flux as well as their corresponding superheat temperatures increase with inclinations.
