Study of microstructure in explosive welded joints between Zr-4 and 1Cr18Ni9Ti

Abstract
The microstructure of explosive welded joints between dissimilar alloys, Zr-4 and 1Cr18Ni9Ti, had been investigated by transmission electron microscopy, JEM-200CX. The results show that the surface of explosive welded joints is in wave form and the metallurgical bonding is achieved by combining effect of diffusion and local melting. The mechanical properties, such as microhardness, tensile strength and so on, had also been tested. The results indicate that the explosive welded joints have fine mechanical behaviors.
