Abstract
Based on the wave optics theory and Gaussian beam theory, a mathematical model was proposed to calculate the polarization-dependent loss (PDL) of a wedge-type polarization-independent optical isolator with beveled GRIN lenses. The factors influencing the PDL of the optical isolator were analyzed. The experimental results agree with the theoretical analysis.
