Clinical pathological and prognostic analysis of 25 cases of arachnoid cysts

An analysis of 25 cases of intracranial and intraspinal arachnoid cysts (18 males and 7 females) show that they are different in symptoms and signs. 17 of them had intracranial arachnoid cysts (68%) and 8 of them had intraspinal arachnoid cysts (32%). Diagnosis and treatment of craniospinal arachnoid cysts had CT or MRI volumetric with complete removal of their cysts. A follow-up indicates that 16 patients with removal of their arachnoid cysts, had a good pronosis and 2 patients with removal of their arachnoid cysts had a poor one.
