Abstract
It is difficult to produce high voltage fast rising pulses by conventional magnetic flux compressors and an inductive energy pulsed power conditioning system based on fuse opening switches has been developed. The system converts magnetic energy into high voltage pulsed energy. In this paper, we present a comprehensive analysis of the pulse formation of this system and report the results of experiments to demonstrate its performance. When the flux of the inductive storage is 0. 1wb the voltage pulses across 40 load resistor is up to 600kV with rising time of approx.50ns. The system, In comparison with the more often used capacitive pulsed power systems, is compact and inexpensive. The numerical simulations of the system performance are completed, the prediction results are in good accord with the experimental data.
