Studies on the aggregation state of hematoporphyrin in surfactant aqueous solution

The aggregation state of hematoporphyrin(HP) in aqueous solution and in surfactant aqueous solution has been studied by spectrum analysis, In micellar media the dimerization effect is observed only in anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS), The monomer-dimer equilibrium is shifted toward the monomer side due to a high increase in the rate constant of the dimer dissociation than in the dimer formation with the SDS concentration. From application of atomic force microscopy the relationship between the morphology variation and micro structure of HP-SDS and the solution state is discussed.
