Abstract
The anisotropic thermopower of Al73Ni17Co10 Single quasicrystals has been carefully measured from 300 K down to 80 K. While the thermopower along the tenfold axis, S-c, can be satisfactorily represented in the S-T plot by a straight line crossing the origin, the behavior in the quasicrystalline plane shows clear deviation from a linear dependence. This deviation is well described by the effect of an electron-phonon mass enhancement in the plane.
