Microstructure of fine-grained PSZ

摘要
The microstructures of the fine-grained PSZ ceramics prepared from ZrO2-MgO-Y2O3-Al2O3 system were investigated by TEM. The microstructure changes of the materials before and after ageing at 1100��C for various time resulted from the subeutectoid decomposition of Y2O3, MgO partially stabilized ZrO2. The t-ZrO2 precipitates of the aged samples were either oblate ellipsoid cross arrayed as in Mg-PSZ or parallel "colonies" as in Y-PSZ ceramics.
