XPS study on the metallic thin films deposited onto the polyvinyl formal (PVF) films

The vapor deposition of Au, Pd, and Ag onto the PVF film to form a metal film was introduced, and the XPS method was used to investigate the chemical composition and valence state of its surface and interface. The results show that after the PVF film is deposited with the Au, Pd, of Ag, the relative content of C of three different valence states varies, which means that the deposition of metal atoms on the PVF film is of chemical adsorption.
