Study of the electrochromic properties of WO3 thin films

The electrochromism and preparation of WO3 thin film were introduced. The WO3 thin film was prepared by means of thermal evaporation method where K9 glass was used as substrate and coated with transparent ITO conductive film. The thickness of WO3 film was 400-500nm. The resistivity, structure, chemical composition, electrochemical characteristics and electrochromic properties were investigated. The results show that the refractive index and resistivity of WO3 thin film decrease with the decrease of temperature and the increase of oxygen pressure. A new method of the lithiation of WO3 thin film was proposed which was crucial for the preparation of all-solid-state electrochromic devices.
