A REINTERPRETATION OF THE EXOTIC EVENT OBSERVED IN THE COSMIC-RAY AT YUNNAN COSMIC-RAY STATION
Science in China (Scientia Sinica) Series A(1995)
摘要
The exotic event observed in 1972 at Yunan Cosmic Ray Station (YCRS) has been re-interpreted as a collision between a high energy heavy particle with a nucleon, with three charged particles identified as the final products. If no other missing neutral particles were produced in this collision, then one of the three particles C+ could be assigned with mass M(c)(+) > 43 GeV, and life-time tau > 0.406 x 10(-9) s. If C+ is instable, it can decay via weak interaction to C degrees and a pair of leptons. The mass difference between C+ and C degrees is estimated as less than 0.270 GeV. The relevance of this event to the dark matter problem in the Universe is also discussed.
