Fragment angular distributions for 40Ar+197Au reaction

The experiment was carried out at the Heavy Ion Research Facility, Lanzhou. 197Au target with a thickness of 1.190mg/cm2 was placed at the center of the scattering chamber at 90�� with respect to the beam direction and the integral particle flux of the irradiation was 5.77��1024 ions /904 min. The fragment angular distributions for the 600MeV 40Ar+197Au reaction were measured using off-line gamma-ray spectroscopy technique. A series of gamma ray spectra were analysed using LEONE program at VAX-8350 computer. The features of the fragment angular distributions and the reaction mechanisms for the produced fragment were discussed according to their mass.
