Computerized nuclear material database management system for power reactors

On the basis of a database management system for light water reactors, two software packages for nuclear material database management at power reactors were developed in the light of IAEA's (International Atomic Energy Agency's) SRT-165 report. The software package which consists of about 400 subroutines can run on IBM PC/XT 80286, 80386, 80486 computers. It is able to manage all nuclear materials in a nuclear power plant and generate files and reports to relevant departments. Those two software packages have been successfully installed and used at the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant and the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, respectively. In this paper, the database structure, data flow and model for the database management were analyzed. And also mentioned were the main functions and characteristics of the software packages.
